Apparently Curbed received a tip that the company that runs the Skyview Ferris Wheel downtown is looking at building a Margaritaville restaurant in an adjacent vacant lot. The operators of the Skyview operate Buffett themed resturants in other locations.

Could ATL's Ferris Wheel be Neighbors with Jimmy Buffett?! - Rumormongering - Curbed Atlanta

Love that a lot is being filled in. The picky side of me isn't in love with the restaurant, but we all know it will be a hit. Wish it could be something else, but if it fills in a lot and adds to the vibrancy downtown, I have to be all about it...

Ehhhhhhhh... I hate Jimmy Buffett

but having nightlife downtown is a good thing. I hope it's open late.

By the way, and I don't know if other people know this, but downtown has the shape of a beer belly. Should downtown be called Atlanta's beer belly? I'd be down with that.

Terrible food, terrible music, and waterered down drinks is still better than surface parking lots.

That's called nightlife. None of those things matter if you're drunk.

Their drinks are so watered down you're not going to be drunk, so it's still a problem.

I've been to the one at Universal in Orlando. Very unimpressive. Still, I welcome it if it means one less surface lot in Downtown.

I've been to the same one in Orlando. Great in concept, but not really a quality brand. Also, not sure Atlanta needs to represent beach culture... Better suited on the coast, but I digress. As an aside, the smaller Cheeseburger in Paradise located at Perimeter closed down last year.

Why can't we make it local and unique to our culture? I assume this is going to earn most of their revenue from visitors... Let's show them how we like to party in the south.
