LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. -- A 60-year-old woman is in the hospital after surviving a 25-foot fall from a ferris wheel.

Gracie Hinson suffered a broken femur, ribs and collar bone after she slipped out of her seat and fell onto the center axle of the big wheel at the Middle Tennessee District Fair in Lawrenceburg on Friday.

The retired librarian and underwent surgery and is resting at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The wheel has been shut down and is undergoing an inspection, but so far authorities have not found any mechanical failure with the ride. It could reopen as soon as Sunday.

What about that girl who had both legs severed from a broken cable on that Superman Tower of Power ride in Kentucky? That was at Six Flags.

They say there's nothing wrong with the Lawrenceburg ferris wheel but how does a 60 year old librarian slip out of her seat? They can't claim she was clowning around on the ride.
