Funny how you trolls flock to any opinion, even that of those you oppose, if it will fit your agenda.
When this is the only side of Cobb county that is published, you can see why others in the metro think the majority of Cobb residents think this way. I encourage others in Cobb county to speak up and publish the article.

I'm glad we didn't surround the new stadium and entertainment complex with parking lots and decks. I'd much rather invest in public infrastructure that will improve connectivity with the surrounding area. I find myself entirely without outrage.

Cobb should be fine but why not lean on John Malone a little? Didn't Arthur Blank kick in some money for infrastructure around the Falcons stadium?

John Malone isn't even CEO of Liberty anymore and just try to find a picture of him inside the stadium or so much as sporting a Braves logo. I don't see him lifting a finger to deal with the minutiae of a 10-30M bridge he doesn't have to pay for. It's like calling Arthur Blank about your neighborhood Home Depot not stocking your favorite brand of caulk (note he has no active role beyond being a big shareholder).

Malone was most likely focused on clearing a few billion in tax free gains via some fancy loopholes and the Braves were just another business he got in the deal vs being an engaged sports team owner. He cares about whether or not the business helps his portfolio and not their playoff performance. You'll find more auditors in luxury boxes than the Malone family.

Well, I thought he was still the big dog over there. If he hasn't been a fan maybe he can be persuaded to change his ways once Tim Lee & Co. get a hold of him.

Bridge to Braves stadium could be a double-decker - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Quote:
A bridge Cobb County plans to build from the Cobb Galleria area to the new Atlanta Braves stadium might be a double-decker bridge.

Cobb officials have discussed building a bridge that would span Interstate 285, but details have changed over time. At one point, officials said the bridge would serve pedestrians and vehicles. Later, officials said only cars and shuttles would use the bridge.

County Chairman Tim Lee now says the bridge could be a double-decker bridge, reports the Marietta Daily Journal. Pedestrians could use a top level, while cars and shuttles could use the lower level, Lee said during a town hall meeting in Acworth.

Lee said the bridge, which could cost up to $9 million, will reduce traffic in the Cumberland area and is not being built solely because of the new stadium, the paper reports.

He said the nearby Cobb Galleria Centre does not schedule many multi-day conventions because there is no night life in the area. The Braves $400 million mixed-use development will help draw patrons, Lee added. The bridge could help get people there, he said.

It is not yet clear who would pay for the bridge.
Less than $9M to build a double decker bridge over a large expanse of interstate that will handle cars, buses, and pedestrians?

That a s s is discussing this on the opposite side of the county of course where the impact is meaningless.

Looks like the cost on the Braves stadium may be coming in a little better than expected.

Quote:
Strip away money for the lawyers, architects, land and other “soft” costs, and the new Atlanta Braves stadium is expected to cost between $476 million and $500 million — or about half that of the new Falcons facility, which is twice as large.

The cost of labor and materials for ballpark construction is called the Guaranteed Maximum Price, or the amount that contractor American Builders says will not be exceeded when building SunTrust Park. The contractor is responsible for overruns, unless the team or county requests changes that drive up the cost.
