Great common sense article. Thanks for posting. I wish we could get some real leadership in our State government.

I'll be there are millions of people in all 50 states that have the same feelings.

No doubt, but let's not apply a false equivalency to the issues that Atlanta faces with all 50 states. The fact is that the region and state haven't kept up. I'm sure people in most cities feel that their region hasn't either, but there is no comparison when it comes to Atlanta and peer cities. Any significant action will take many years to become reality and the conversation isn't even happening.

Man, if I wanted to complain about something each and everyday, I could. I choose not to.

Yes, use a straw man to dismiss something very significant. This isn't getting about getting something wrong at a fast food window.

HB170 isn't the solution, but it's a step in the right direction.

On a similar note, Ga House Rep Buzz Brockway just posted an article on Peach Pundit laying out a MARTA expansion funding mechanism. While you may find issue with his ideas, I'd say it's a positive sign that Georgia Republicans are talking about MARTA.

I think (hope) things are changing, but it is tooooooooo slow. The bar is so low I was actually mildly impressed with this last session.

Youngins need to get out there AND VOTE! Stop letting people that are afraid of the city dictate what happens to the city - THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE STATE.

We need a new system to engage people who are rightfully disillusioned with politics.
