A little-known fact is that Delta is now transporting selected very high level Frequent Flyers via Porsche's between gates.

Porsche doesn't sell to the masses. They only sold 42,000 cars in the U.S. in 2013. GM, by contrast, sold 2,800,000 in 2013. There are enough rich people in the world to pay the exorbitant prices and keep them HIGHLY profitable.

They've been doing this at ATL for about 3 years now, and recently expanded the service into NYC, Detroit, and a couple other airports.

Classy guys.
and now I'm a fan of Porsche!

I hear they use the four door Panamera to transport passengers.

Porsche does more than build Porsches.

From the Grand Opening press release;

Quote:
Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) has called the Atlanta area home since 1998. PCNA is now joined by Porsche Financial Services, Porsche Business Services, Porsche Consulting and Mieschke Hofmann & Partners, with all five entities housed under the same roof. Ultimately, 450 employees will be based at the new headquarters, over 100 of whom fill positions that are new to Georgia.
A lot of engineering, design, and process consulting as I understand it.

Looks like quite the "Grand opening" party they had: An insider?s look at Porsche?s glamorous grand opening gala (SLIDESHOW) - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Hopefully this all will raise the profile of the airport area and attract more business to locate there. It really is a great location for a business hub.

Well Porsche has been doing a lot to raise the profile of all things Atlanta business, and Airport Area for a bit.

They are a key member of the Aerotropolis Alliance, trying to recruit more companies around the airport, their VP will be in the Atlanta Leadership 2016 class, and now a half-mil to the beltline.

I'm impressed with their Corporate investment as of right now.
