All they need is funding for it.

Would they get credit for the 1% they've already been paying for the last 45 years?

We need to look forward, not the water under the bridge.

These two things are highly contradictory. Just saying.

No, they would actually get more rail to go along with all the buses and other rail the county's been getting this whole time.

It's funny to me that someone always brings this up, as if the people who live in north Fulton didn't know they'd be paying a MARTA tax before they moved way out into the suburbs (the number of people who have lived there since before MARTA was created is a pretty small percentage of the population, I'm willing to bet). North Fulton residents have bus service and the ability to park for free at a nice, safe rail station to commute to the perimeter or the city. They benefit from the fact that a percentage of their neighbors use these services even if they don't, reducing the number of commuters using our overburdened roads. The red line extension sounds like a nice idea but it's not like the people there have been paying into MARTA with absolutely nothing in return.

The Buckhead CID is a pretty great example of how a locality can get big projects done on their own if they don't like waiting for the city, county, or state to finance it. Maybe north Fulton should consider levying a tax on itself if they want their own project to get done faster. Otherwise it'll keep inching along next to the Clifton corridor and the blue line extension in south DeKalb, thanks to MARTA's barebones funding.

Places like the Hartsfield, ATnT, Georgia Tech, Lenox Mall employee, etc etc. I think if Marta could compile a list of places to work and live near Marta, they could actually show which stations need more TOD action. Instead of expanding the rail line to other locations, why not showcase the value of existing stations. They have 36 stations to pull that data from.

One driver tried to kick me off, and since I was going to work, I argued for a bit and he let me stay on. When I told him I had the confirmation email, he told me he wasn't allowed to look at it when he was in the drivers seat, and I needed to show him a paper receipt. I understand the "no phone while driving" rule, but what is the point of buying online if you have to print out a receipt when using the bus? If I was going to the train station, I'd buy my breezecard there rather than online. The online loading option is most convenient for using busses since there are no machines at bus stops. I called and complained to MARTA, but didn't really get any response.
ive never had that problem when I used CTran back in the day, its best to Never allow your Breeze card to get near a 0 balance. Always make it a point to maintain at least 5 dollars on your card, I dont think there is a time limit on how long you have to use it. I used to see people on Ctran and Marta doing the struggle arguments with bus drivers and mentally i was calling those people cheap slackers because whether they did the upload or not, they look like they are trying to hustle the system. I always keep at least 10 dollars on the card, just make life easier. Once my card got to the 4 dollar 3 dollar range. I would just add money to it for the next day. Easy.
