Hello everybody!! Im new here so bare with me.

I am currently residing in St. Louis (born & raised). Ive grown tired of my dear city and as a natural explorer, I want to venture elsewhere. I have family in ATL so Im quite comfortable with the decision to move. My lease is up here in STL in November. Im trying to be proactive in researching 6 months in advance.

Im a "country city girl." I grew up in the suburbs but I currently live downtown. Here in STL we can literally get anywhere within 20 minutes. I think that's our citys motto. lol I need suggestions on where to live in ATL.

single black woman
26yo
flight attendant (who will be commuting to work in another city)
no kids

I would like a neighborhood closer to the airport. im willing to drive up to 25-30 mins from home to Hartsfield. I don't want to worry about my house being broken into while im gone. If people were to see me leave in a FA uniform w/ luggage. I would like a pool possibly. being on the MARTA train line will suffice as well. monthly rent budget of $700.

With ATL being the major hub for delta and old hub for airtran, I would think there are some flight attendant "communities" or something...

any feedback is good! thanks in advance lovelies!

There are many nice neighborhoods in South Fulton, Lake City, Morrow, or if you want to go further afield, Fayette County or Douglas County. Good luck in your search.

I just want to forewarn you... a $700 rental budget will not stretch as far in Atlanta as it probably was in St. Louis.

Not impossible, but it is a bit low and will lead you into some more semi-questionable neighborhoods if you don't review them carefully.

The good thing is the Southside and near the airport is the quieter/cheaper side of town. You should find some options in the direction towards Union City.

East Point! There are plenty of others here that are in your line of work. And we lost a few with the Southwest merger, so we need to re-up our stock!

oh btw - we are on MARTA - 700 should be no biggie - might get a house, but more likely an apartment on someone's property. There is also the crashpad option.
