Yep. I have a Lawrenceville address even though I'm closer to Snellville.

I would go Sandy Springs because it's more central and has a significant portion of jobs in city limits or right outside in PC. I think more people commute to Sandy Springs than Marietta, but I don't have any data to back that up. Just what it seems like.

Just a little numerical info adding all zip codes with that city name.

Decatur
Decatur, GA ZIP Codes
Population 167,967

Marietta
Marietta, GA ZIP Codes
Population 302,309

Lawrenceville
Lawrenceville, GA ZIP Codes
Population 228,867

Sandy Springs
Population should be very similar to actual population.

For Fun Atlanta
Atlanta, GA ZIP Codes
Population 872,273 in 352 Square Miles

This would make Atlanta the 11th biggest city in the country by population, if all the places with an Atlanta Zip Code were incorporated. That was fun.

I think an argument could be made for Dunwoody.

It's either Sandy Springs or Decatur. An argument can be made for Sandy Springs due to its population and commercial gravity, and an argument can be made for Decatur due to its history and location. Marietta is just a giant bedroom community, and Lawrenceville is borderline exurban.

Nobody outside Georgia has heard of Sandy Springs. But most people who know Atlanta, know Decatur.
