Without question. Much of Midtown and Downtown could really use a road diet.

One great example of an existing road diet is Decatur Street from the Five Points intersection eastward through the GSU campus. I've driven on that, and to tell you the truth, I don't even know what the speed limit on that stretch is, yet I don't feel comfortable going faster than about 30. And that's probably by design. That's part of what good road diets do: they make cars more nearly coexist with all other forms of transportation in the immediate vicinity, namely, bikes and pedestrians.

Simply putting the required parking in the back of retail would go a long way toward making it more walkable. Then you wouldn't have to walk through parking lots to get from one development to the next. It would also create a more pleasant streetscape.
