Thanks everyone for the feedback. Magnetar, I will definitely check out Reynoldstown and Cabbagetown.

Also learning more about MARTA. This may be silly of me, but I really didn't realize professionals use it!

Also, look into Ashely at Auburn. Nice complex, across street from King Memorial Station, and 2 blocks from Edgewood Ave district and streetcar.

Definitely check out Ashley Auburn and Pencil Loft factory apartments in O4W. Its right next to downtown. You will be able to walk to work, take MARTA or the streetcar. A few blocks away is Edgewood Ave if you want to go bar hopping. The street next to it is called Auburn Ave and that is about to the be the new party spot for professionals once a few more places open there in a couple of months. Then you got Sweet Auburn Market if you need something to it. The hospital is right around the corner if you need go to. You are about a mile walking distance from Krog St Market and the Beltline.

Once you move in report back to us on what you think of it.

Long, overdue update! I chose not to live downtown or in midtown. The places I saw were in areas that seemed A) a little too grimey for me or B) too crowded. I ended up choosing the Chamblee/Brookhaven area and I use the MARTA rail for commuting back and forth to work. If I could do it all over again, I probably would have moved to the Lindbergh area.

And as for anyone in their 20s moving to ATL...I'd highly suggest the Lindbergh area. One complex I really liked (but had no availability for when I needed) was Tuscany at Lindbergh

Glad to hear an update! Used to do the Brookhaven-to-Midtown commute via MARTA and it's very convenient.

That's a good choice as well; glad you found something that worked for you.

Glad to hear you found an area your happy with! Funny nobody mentioned Brookhaven area for a young professional, my cousin who is your age just moved here a few months back from south ga and she loves it!

Speaking of Lindbergh I remember a few years back there were some apartments/lofts that were kind of abandoned or construction never finished, did those end up getting completed? They looked cool but I remember them sitting there vacant during the economy plunge. That is such a cool spot figure they are done now.
