I currently live in north jersey with my wife and 15 month old son. We are looking to relocate to PTC next summer. I'm currently in the automotive industry(service advisor @ GMC dealer) and my wife is a dental hygienist. We would be looking for jobs in those fields prior to moving. Can anyone provide us with pros and cons of PTC and any possible employers in those fields that could possibly be an option for us. Would looking into jobs in Atlanta area to far of a commute. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Peachtree City is considered one of the best suburbs. It was a planned community. It is famous for being planned with miles of paved pathways for citizens to drive all over the city with golf carts. It is considered to have a high quality of life. It is known for several airline companies and employees living and working in the area. The population of the incorporated city is about 35,000. It should have dental offices. It should likewise have auto dealers. I can't say if any are hiring at the time. It is a little far out from Atlanta. It would be quite a drive on I-85 to get to Atlanta every day. I don't think you will regret moving there. Below is a picture or two culled from the internet.

The automobile dealerships are mainly in neighboring Union City and Newnan . There are several dental practices in the town - so your wife should be able to find a job easily . It is a great place to live and getting around by golf cart is awesome .

Thank you so much everyone for the responses. We are actually taking a trip there on the 20th of November to check out the city and get a feel for it. Any tips or advice on where to have lunch or a nice dinner ? Do you guys recommend we make a stop anywhere in particular? We are very excited about coming to GA in general. I know property taxes are lower but is cost of living really much cheaper down there? I'm looking foward to this move very much. We had enough of NJ and the rudeness that comes with it. We are tired of holding doors for people and not getting a simple thank you. Education for our little guy is very important and here the only way you get it is if you live in a multi-million dollar neighborhood. Thank you all for any input.

Cost of living is a lot cheaper than Jersey. However, Georgia public schools are not all that wonderful either. Private schools are common for the monied people down here too. I'm not familiar with Peachtree City's restaurants. I wish locals would recommend a few. Try searching the internet and look at the reviews. Use Google Maps to find it. I too am wanting to move to Atl eventually. It's very hard to uproot a real estate business when you have ownership of rentals. Good luck to you. Best wishes.

Fayette county has probably the best schools on the southside of Atlanta and compare really well to other parts of the metro so education isn't an issue.

Peachtree City is within Fayette County, which is one of the best school districts in the State. If you're looking for a comfortable suburban lifestyle, it's a great place.

It is an outer suburb, though. The closest large employment center is the Airport, generally about 40 minutes away. There are a huge amount of Airline & related employees living there.

I'm loving these inputs. Thank you everyone. Please keep them coming. Can I rent a golf cart while down there next month? How is the humidity there throughout the year?

Yes, you can rent golf carts while you are in Peachtree City ( just google golf cart rentals in Peachtree City and several companies should come up . Also some of the motels have them for guest to use ( Holiday Inn is one of them ).Remember that the golf carts are for golf carts paths ,some streets inside the various communities , and parking lots - not for road/ highway use !( You will be pulled over and ticketed in a nano second if you drive one on those ...seriously ).
