Sometimes, the obsession Texans have with "bigger, badder, better" comes back and bites them right in their butts -- and I just laugh and laugh and laugh. There is, indeed, a God. And he doesn't not look kindly on Texas Excess, methinks!

Right...God hates Texas so much that the almost palatial Allen Eagle stadium is completely repaired and the football team has won 57 consecutive games and is likely the best football team in the country.

And the contractor, Pogue Construction, did most of the repair on their own dime even though it is believed it wasn't construction error, but error in the original design. The owners are devout Christians and give to many causes. I know the founder even tho he is mostly retired now and his sons run the company.

Newsboy, this stadium has been attacked for its cost but the same bond referendum passed by the ISD residents (note that in Texas, the ISD is truly independent and is not contiguous with the same named city's city limits) built a band practice room and an arts center. This is a very well to do part of the Dallas metro area (think East Cobb, North Fulton, Peachtree City) and think if any of those had their own independent district, might have the same type of facilities in GA.
