This should be a nice addition to the neighborhood...

An up-and-coming developer is looking to bring a nearly $20 million adaptive reuse project to Grant Park, along Atlanta Beltline’s planned Southside Trail. Philippe Pellerin, principal of Pellerin Real Estate, is acquiring a collection of industrial buildings at the end of Grant Street that he plans to transform into a new dining and entertainment district within walking distance of Zoo Atlanta.

Does the article provide any other details about this project? I'm very excited about this, but I'm not able to see the full article to see if there is a timeline or any other details provided.

"The vision is to renovate the buildings for tenants that range from a 400- to 500-seat music venue, art gallery, brewery, urban winery, and gymnastics center. There would be five to seven restaurants, a mix of popular local chefs and new-to-market concepts.

The heart of the project would create a “tasting room” atmosphere, Pellerin said, with artisan food vendors such as a cheesemaker, chocolate maker and coffee shop. Other tenants could include a co-working space, hair salon, photographer and personal trainer."

"The hope is to break ground in December or January, with the goal of opening in summer 2017."

- Atlanta Business Chronicle

This is great news for Grant Park! Tons of development coming to Memorial, and now the southside is picking up in anticipation of the Beltline. Post Properties is the owner of a large parcel on the Beltline by Boulevard, Pellerin is doing this on Grant St., and another developer bought more of the warehouses along Grant Street. Very exciting to see what the next few years brings to the Southside Beltline neighborhoods (even as it seems like we are waiting forever for the trail itself)!

Glad to see more stuff really building around the Beltline, and I like Grant Park and the Zoo, just think it could be even more walkable.

Let's hope it's a little more diverse, in more ways than one.

I'm not too hopeful. Many of the announced tenants are very boring, like a yoga studio and a salon. Maybe part krog street, part Avalon style suburban development.
