I'm married but I have told all my single friends to steer clear of ATL when looking for an appropriate mate. These guys come down here with all types of baggage/issues/lies!! Most are opportunist looking for a woman to put them up!

The hard part is FINDING them, of course. I found my wife online, actually (seriously .. we met on Yahoo Personals nine years ago
), but most of the down-to-earth folks I know don't do bars or clubs ... you're far more likely to run into them in a grocery store or a fitness club or maybe a bookstore.

You know the best way to find them? Volunteer. Pick an org that speaks to you and spend a Saturday with them. Chances are you'll meet some very cool people.

I'm a married white female but I work as a contractor at CDC. There are a lot of professional African-American men (and women) who work for the government - many of them are probably single.
So, I'd say start lunching at LeGiverney's (I think I spelled that wrong) on Clifton Rd....
