Use the deck in this development and others, like redeveloping the lots where the banks now sit. Build pure money-generating building on that parcel and use the existing garage for parking among future developments.

The deck needs to go, period. There is no reason that section of Spring needs to be a dead zone.

That vast, empty & barren expanse is a sad reminder of the old days of Midtown.
I'm guessing the Archdiocese of Atlanta is waiting on a huge payday before selling those lots and the building.

Seeing as the deck is owned or leased by ATT, it would be a struggle, but could happen one day.

ATT owns like 3 decks in the area, minimum. They provide a HUGE amount of parking for their employees, which is especially sad considering MARTA rail runs directly INTO their building. The North Ave station literally provides direct access to the building, without ever having to go outside.

Off topic, but if any building needs renovation in midtown, it's the ATT tower. The inside is supposed to be a "mall", but it's just horrible. It's like walking back in time into the 80's in there.

Anyone know if there's news about the 3rd street tunnel? It seems like, with all the developments, that'd be reopened (with appropriate policing / security measures of course).

Yet another student tower?? Spring Street is fast becoming a high-rise university city. If this keeps up, soon the vast majority of pedestrians will be packing a backpack.

And that would be great for this part of town!
