"Urbanization might be the trend for much of the population, especially Millennials, but not everyone craves the bright lights and crowded spaces of a big metropolis. For those who appreciate fewer degrees of separation and want more bang for their buck, small-city life can be tough to beat."

Not surprised to hear this. Kennesaw has consistently been ranked low in terms of crime. K.s.u
seems to be expanding and is developing positively as a university. I heard they were recognized as a research univ. im 2016.

Alpharetta, as we know, is building up fast and is diverse economically. I hear that that's where a lot of jobs are.

As a millennial living in Acworth, right by kennesaw, I completely agree with this. It's a great place to live with low crime and low COL. just need to get used to long commutes, which to me are worth it.

Andy, you are right about the commutes, if one works in the city or another high-employment suburb (i.e. Alpharetta). I have a few neighbors who work pretty far away (like the CDC) or downtown, but many people in my community work from home, in Kennesaw, Marietta or Acworth, and some further down into Smyrna.

There is so much development going on in this area that we do / will have practically everything younger professionals and families desire/need in just a few years. The master plan for Kennesaw calls for the entire city limits to be walkable, linked by sidewalks and trails, eventually feeding into the Marietta trails and Silver Comet. There has also been talk of the KSU buses being utilized for public transportation opportunities within the communities surrounding KSU and the City of Kennesaw.

Of course, with Whole Foods opening in March next year, people anticipate that Trader Joe's will soon follow, which seems to be part of their model.

Cobb County and North Fulton are really nice areas, and good places to live. They mostly don't have the urban vibe and diverse or eclectic cultural offerings and everything, but are close enough to the city to be able to access that regularly.
