Funny how they are trying to step their game up now when they have had years to do this

that elevator is a POS. we were holding open the elevator for my grandfather (who has now passed away) and the door crushed his arm as it took him a while to get through it. security told us it was "on a timer" and the door would close whether there was anyone in the way or not.

btw, the renderings make it look too bright and sterilized. same thing they did to lenox. simon needs to get a new designer, because the current one is an ex-surgeon.

Phipps could use more natural light - it is so dark! And that ridiculous one way escalator that goes to the theater (or goes from the theater... I can't ever remember) is frustrating. It does always seem to have available parking though - that doesn't really seem to be a problem.

Sounds like a lawsuit in the making.

we should have sued, but he wasn't seriously injured so we just kind of dropped it. but if it had made them repair that elevator, it might've been worth it.

This has been a long time coming. The mall feels so late 90s to me. Glad to see Simon is actually coughing some money up and updating the place.

BTW, the move theater on the third floor is by far the best in the city. I won't go anywhere else.

I'm with you, I don't like the look of a lot of the malls now. Sterilized is a good description. It kind of reminds me of North Point Mall...just too boring and bright. There's something about the dark wood and cozy surroundings that I like. Anyone remember Rich's at Perimeter before it closed? I used to love the Men's store...it was so dark and manly. I guess that's not what people want these days, but I sure do miss the way stores used to look, but then I guess I'm not the demographic they're targeting.
