I had the availability of having them shipped to my office, So our receptionist put them in the secured package closet,

At Christmas time it looked like Santa Workshop Atlanta Division.

But never heard a problem with Porch Stealing my neighborhoods in Alpharetta, or here ...

It's long overdue. If I want to go pick up some birdseed, I don't want to have traipse all over a gigantic store and then stand in a checkout line with dozens of other people.

There's the "X items or less" line but even those can be slow. We got behind someone yesterday that easily had 40 items in the 20 item line. Took just as long as a normal line.

Not only that, but think about how far you have to walk just to get into the store, and then how far you have to walk to get back to the birdseed department. You could log a quarter of a mile just doing that.

I know they have a similar program at a grocery store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately there's a lot of grocery theft in that neck of the woods. Sometimes people just pull up in ol beater cars with one door and just gank whatever bins are there

Back in the U.S., I have tried to order store pickup from Walmart twice now. Both times were horrible. I waited at least 3 hours for confirmation both times. Ended up just going to the store and getting it off the shelf. Their store pickup is useless if you want to pick something up same day

I honestly don't think it will effect the head count, Might even grow the head count, if they can get more volume into the "Site to Store".

Every time I've done "Site to Store" The pickup desk is unstaffed, you have to push a button for someone to get paged, Five minutes later or so someone shows up, then disappears into the back room for 5 minutes to go look for.

So I had to drive to Walmart, go to a pick up desk in the very back of the store, wait 5 minutes for someone to show up, then wait another 5 minutes for them to find the item (Often its still in the UPS Box it was shipped to them in). Wait while they check it in, then check it out. Not a great experience. 15 minutes to get a "Site to Store" item vs. Amazon UPS/USPS brings it to my door for same cost.
Had the same experience picking up at the Howell Mill Walmart a time or two...But this last time I tried it last week I found they have a new setup. Pickup has moved to the very front of the store, Well marked, well staffed and I was out of there within 3 minutes. They also gave a steep discount for picking up in store.

Might want to try it again.
