DCSD adds two new regions, reorganizes district

The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) is reorganizing the leadership of its schools increasing the number of academic regional superintendents from five to seven in order to provide more support to underperforming schools.

So, instead of sending instructors and tutors to schools to deal with students, Dekalb adds more executives who deal with principals.

Wow. OK. You’ve convinced me. The 2 million that Dekalb County Schools just lost to APS would have just been flushed down the toilet anyway.

They have added instructors and tutors to the south cluster schools.

This was recommended a couple years ago because the Area 4/5 were too much for one area superintendent to supervise due to all the social economically problems plaguing those schools.

Instead of streamlining their administrative function (as they have been urged to do for decades now), they continue to inflate it.
It's the DCSS way. I wouldn't my dog to a DeKalb County school.

A grant that received in 2014 recommended them expanding administration aka area superintendents.

Either way, it's way too many friends and family at headquarters and tremendous bloat.

About $133k but you have about a couple more jobs connected to it as well. Each Area has a Coordinator II and III plus a secretary so additional cost right there as well.
