Behind in my condo payments (Atlanta, Decatur: foreclosure, to rent, lawyer)

I am 2 months behind in my condo payments. Does anyone have experience with a foreclosure or filed bankruptcy. I lost my job. Please let me know.

Have you considered trying to work something out with your lender?
It seems now that they're a lot more open to this in the face of the current foreclosure crisis.

How about trying to rent it out and stay with family, I know selling is a lengthy process at the moment.

In terms of jobs my husband and I keep saying if we need extra cash I will work at starbucks as they give good benefits which start right away and you can even work part time. (The running joke is we will never be able to remember peoples orders - bad short term memory) I have a bachelors and experience but, Do what you have to do!!!

It's a very difficult situation when things like this happen. I don't know if filing bankrupcy will save your condo. If not, you need to come up with payments. Getting a job, any kind job quickly is the best way. Otherwise you can borrow from your famliy and pay them back later. Good luck.

Do not be scared to contact your bank and let them know about your situation. Trust me - the bank would rather work out payment plans than own a house.

I'm serious. You have to find work, and fast. Do anything.

Something that will help you make money fast is delivering pizza. Do IT. You are fighting for your financial life. If you do not want to be foreclosed on, you have to make money fast. You can at least make $40 in tips per night, perhaps more. If you do this five days a week, that's a minimum of $200 week in tips. With the salary, you're looking at $300/week and $1200/month. Perhaps it is not what you had, but it might be enough to bind you over until your get more stable employment.

It's pretty simple, really. If you have money in savings - even in a 401k, you could take it out and use it to make payments. If you don't, it's a good lesson to learn.
