Going to Atlanta would have been the detriment. No hope of ever getting anything better. And zero influence in a city dominated by the southwest residents and Buckhead business establishment.

Right now, 1 DCSS board member lives in Druid Hills and one member on the Board of Commisioners-and one other used to live in Druid Hills. Nobody would listen to us in Atlanta.

It’s not the Atlanta of the 1990s.

What influence does any of the Dekalb’s Board of Commissioners have over zoning in Emory? If Druid Hills becomes part of a block of east-side neighborhoods that include Morningside, VaHI, Midtown, Poncey Highland, O4W, Candler Park, Lake Claire, do you think it’s school situation (or political situation) to get worse?

It couldn't possibly.

Fernbank Elem vs Morningside/Springdale Park/Mary Lin Elems...I'd call it a draw
Druid Hills Middle vs Inman Middle...advantage APS
Druid Hills High vs Grady High...slight advantage APS

Fernbank slight advantage over Morningside/Sprindale Park.
DHMS vs. Inman-slight advantage APS.

For HS probably be MLK. Grady is overcrowded. And I wouldn't give APS any better than a draw on DHHS/Grady. Big advantage DHHS over MLK.

So it could get a whole lot worse.

Your opinions would appear to be based on rather dated information.
I'll take Meria Carstarphen's leadership skills (and integrity) over Stephen Green's any day of the week. There is no contest.

MLK? Is there even a way to make a contiguous school zone for MLK (middle)-Jackson (high) that could include Druid Hills without Candler Park-Lake Claire going too? That takes a lot of imagination. It almost sounds like you are used to having a school board and superintendent actively working against your interests... oh, wait...never mind!
