I like Bankhead. Why are we so quick to trample history?

Looks post-apocalyptic along some of those streets.
You know what areas also had a bad rep?
Edgewood
Kirkwood
East Lake
Sumerhill
West End
Adair Park
O4W
Reynoldstown
Oakhurst

Unlike most people on here, the majority of people don’t care/know about the history and see the name “Bankhead” in a negative way. I feel the people behind Quarry Yards are going to have a big say in the new name due to the proximity to their huge investment.

That’s a win-win imo.

Agreed. Nothing personal, but I didn't get it when I was on Ponce recently and arrived at its intersection with John Lewis Freedom Parkway.

It's nuts.

Not a fan of Ted Turner Drive either.

Agreed with everyone on Bankhead Station, just leave it alone. Classic Atlanta.

Changing its name isn't going to change its cachet, anyway.

Metropolitan Parkway, anyone?

Whatever happened to the proposal to rename Hollowell to Shawty Lo?

If they rename the street, would MARTA go with Shawty Lo Station?
