Does anyone else remember this Restaurant? In 1964 all-you-can eat fried catfish and/or fried chicken, salad, fries and hush puppies for $1.25. Loved this place!

Here is a link to an Atlanta Constitution article from December 1963 talking about the opening of the then-new Catfish King location on Cheshire Bridge Road along with the opening of another then-new Catfish King location on Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain:

Catfish King Restaurants Now Open At Three Convenient Locations - Catfish King on Cheshire Bridge 12.2.63 (Atlanta Constitution newspaper clipping from December 2nd, 1963 courtesy of Newspapers.com)

Here is a link to an Atlanta Time Machine page showing a 1964 Catfish King ad showing a picture of “The Largest Man in the World,” Big Jim, eating an unbelievably large amount of food at a Catfish King restaurant as part of a joint promotion for Catfish King and the Ringling Circus.

Below the picture are a couple of ads for the Cheshire Bridge Road and Moreland Avenue Catfish King locations.

It was located at 2069 Cheshire Bridge, which is the same address as the Heretic. Many family feasts at the Memorial Drive and Moreland Ave locations.

We used to go to the one on Moreland. Good hushpuppies.

I'm guessing this is the business that became Rio Vista? If so, we used to go to the one on Memorial when I was a kid. I still remember their excellent catfish and hushpuppies, YUM!

My recollection is that they started off as Rio Vista. Seems like there was some kind of family disagreement and one party split off and opened Catfish King.

Thanks, arjay! I wish we still had places like this, it's hard to find good catfish around Atlanta. I've always wondered why we don't have what are known as Fish Camps up in Charlotte here. They're very similar to the old Rio Vista/Catfish King concept, but with more varied choices - and they're fantastic! I think something similar would be extremely popular here.
