No doubt Atlanta is a great place to live! Number 1 in US? Maybe. There is a reason that we picked it.

Before moving here we said we wanted a place that:

good schools
affordable homes
good jobs
good airport
weekend drive to mountains and ocean
safe areas
amenities
moderate 4 season climate

before you know it, our cities narrowed down pretty quick and ATL was at the top of that list.

I mean, personally, Canada certainly isn't my version of most liveable, I know that much

I was going to share this too. It originally saw this article in the Economist but you needed a subscription to open/read it. DC is the only other US city ranked in the "more liveable" category. It is an honor, especially for an outside publication to rank us almost in the likes of Canadian cities despite the traffic and crime problems, and the negative image people seem to have about Atlanta.

It is definitely an honor—and accurate.

More significant because it’s an international/British publication outside of a biased, US-based perspective.

I could see myself living in Toronto. It feels a bit like Chicago with the lake, tall skyscrapers, and transit. But then the winters are quite harsh and that's why I also couldn't live in most of the northern areas.

Gotta love Texas getting slighted so bad, with Houston ranked bottom tier and Dallas excluded altogether.

I wonder why New York was so low on the list.
