I am having a hard time finding a roommate for an apartment in Midtown for this fall. Any Suggestions???

Ive tried craig'slist, gooffcampus.com, and facebook/myspace. I don't know where else to go.

I prefer a female college student (since the apartment already has 2 female college students) but I am open to considering other options.

Here's the Info:
Roommate needed for 3 bed/2 bath apartment in midtown. 5 minute walk from Piedmont Park, off 10th Street. Close to Ga. Tech and Ga. State University (within 10 min from each). $535/month plus utilities. Lease begins August 1st, just in time for the fall semester. Apartment is part of a duplex house in a quaint and safe neighborhood. House has a large front porch (with swing) and two great roommates already but need a third. Washer/dryer provided. Most kitchen appliances provided. Parking directly in front of the house. No pets. In walking distance of several restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, movie theater, and some shopping. Please contact with questions/interest.Looking for a responsible roommate.

Well, one thing is that many people looking for a place for August 1 will not start until July. You are ahead of the game, so the pool of applicants is already very small.

You have to keep trying. Once an ad runs a few days, pull it and put a new one in place to keep it fresh. Remember though especially on Craigs List to actually CANCEL the old ad before putting in your new one. If people see the same person running multiple frequent ads (which happens) they might be scared away thinking something is wrong with you and/or your roommate that's scaring roomates away and causing you to seem desperate. And yes - do background checks or at least indicate you will do one to people who call (whether you do or not to scare off the nutjobs). Require verifiable references (last place they lived - work, etc).

One thing of note though is that these days even college students are drifting away from the multiple roommate scene. Even though it is a 3BR, it's easier to just get one roommate for a 2BR than to entice someone to move in with TWO other people. At least that was my experience years ago when I went through it, and things are moreso now.

Anyway - it'll happen eventually. Just keep refreshing the ad.
