When I had membership with LA fitness( on winward pkwy), I paid zero initiation and my monthly fees was $39. My neighbor was a member of LA fitness, discontinued and then joined again when he got a email with zero initiation fees and $19/mo. Now thats a great deal.

One of the best decisions I made recently was buying my own Olympic set, bench, squat rack, with corrsponding dumbbells and preacher curl bar and some extra weights. $500 and I never have to drive anywhere, wait in any lines or stress about getting a workout in again! I realized I only use free weights, and do mostly compound powerlifting style lifts, therefore it works out perfectly.

P90X has been amazing... bought the DVDs on ebay for $80 and then a powertower for pull ups, dips,etc from Walmart for $100... I do most of routines at home... 10x better...

Go to Costco, they sell 24 mos. for $299. Even if you had to pay the $50 fee to join Costco, it's still cheaper.
