Hi there. My fiance and I are looking at purchasing a second home in the Buckhead area for his business. I am not that farmilar with the area. I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead right off the 400 three times and pretty much stayed within the area. Hit Lenox Square, Phips and restaurants such as Chops and Nava. How far from that commerical area is some nice housing and what price range are we talking about?

Thanks!!

The North Buckhead community is right behind Phipps Plaza. The main road is Wieuca Rd. Cottages can be purchased in the 400s. The homes range from the 700s to 3 million. The condos in that part of Buckhead range from the 300s to well over a million. There are three condo towers going up on Peachtree Road with starting prices at one million dollars. The townhomes can range fom the mid 300s to like 3 million dollars. These prices apply for the zip 30326(Lenox and Phipps area) and 30342(The North Buckhead commnity portion).

It's cheaper to live in zip 30305. You would still have a Buckhead address and would only be about 5 -10 minutes south of the Lenox area with traffic. Garden Hills and Peachtree Park have homes from the low 400s to the low 700s. Condos in the Buckhead Village have starting prices in the 200s and 300s. On the west side of Peachtree in zip 30305 is the entrance to the most prestigeous parts of Buckhead(Peachtree Heights, Tuxedo Park, West Paces, etc). Smaller fixer uppers in this area starts at like $800,000. Most of the homes though are multi million dollar mansions and estates. Many of these homes were built by renowned Atlanta architechts like Reid, Hertz, and Shultz during the 1920s and 1930s. Naturally that section of Buckhead is the old money area of Atlanta.

I dont know what you can afford but I have included a variety of price ranges. Contrary to poular belief, Buckhead can be affordable if you know where to look and depending on what you are looking for.

StVincent- Thanks for your reply. It is very informative. Sounds like zip 30305 might be what were looking for. Something between 500-600k. Thanks again!
