How charming is the historic district and downtown Newnan? I would love to read responses from people who live or lived in Coweta county.

I am considering leasing a place there. I like areas where people walk to restaurants/shops and dogs are plentiful. Am I even close?

(Commuting is not an issue as I will be working at various customer locations all over the Metro area.)

I grew up south of Newnan, a little closer to LaGrange, but we would frequent both towns. This was in the day before Newnan was considered the suburb it is today. In those days (talking about the 70s) I would have rated downtown LaGrange as nicer. Newnan and LaGrange are two towns that have kept up with their downtowns and made them pleasant, so I would recommend Newnan. However, it does have a lot of competition from suburban style big boxes, but the population of Coweta has mushroomed, so there is demand.

The most charming part of Newnan is the many beautiful homes in the historic districts on all sides of downtown. It really is a nice city, has grown a lot. I think you will do well there.
