Between these two free Atlanta publications (Creative Loafing & The Sunday Paper), which do you prefer and why?

I like the CL. Granted it can be bit partisan on the side of the left, nonetheless it makes for a good lunchtime reader in the downtown area.

Creativr Loafing in Atlanta is probably the best underground paper in the USA. I wish they had Creative Loafing in San Antonio

The Sunday Paper is the best weekly in the U.S. Creative Loafing is a tired old alt weekly that's still stuck in 1992. The Sunday Paper is one of the only newspapers in the country that gets "it".

I can't stand Sunday Paper, and Creative Loafing isn't much better.

What is "it"? Neocon drivel?

So what form of media do you use to keep informed on local & state affairs? We need some kind of fourth estate, because who else is gonna put spotlight on our elected officials?

Don't get me wrong. I read both. I also read web-based news, blogs and forums such as this. I'm FAR, FAR, FAR more informed now on local goings-on than I was when the newspaper industry was healthy.

I like the "Loaf", but Sunday Paper honestly gives them a run for the money nowadays.

I like the "New Times" papers (i.e., LA Weekly, Dallas Observer, Miami New-Times, etc.) better than the Creative Loafing papers in relation to their content and details.

The Jackson Free Press down in Jackson, MS is another impressive Alt-Weekly, especially for a town that size.

I've never read "The Sunday Paper", but I've always liked Creative Loafing. Not sure I'd consider it the best alt-weekly in the nation; at the very least, the Indy Weekly (http://http://www.indyweek.com/gyrobase/ - broken link) in the Raleigh-Durham-CH area has it beat. But CL is pretty good.
