Um, I would not recommend Forest Park. I would try Hampton, Jonesboro, or Morrow if you wanna stay in Clayton County. I would also recommend Stockbridge as well. It is in Henry County but STAY AWAY from Forest Park!

Default Forest Park has been good for us

I live in unincorporated Forest Park, I actually live near Morrow, I have had no problems living here. I have great neighbors and I have never had my home burglarized and for the most part, I feel safe. I have children that attend Forest Park HS, my son recently took the GA High School Exam and made a perfect score on the Math and Science portion and his SAT scores were outstanding, he has received offers from various schools throughout the country. There are some parts that are pretty run down, but the city has plans for the area and I suspect it will eventually come to fruition and the area will come up. I moved to this area some years back due to it being close to downtown ATL at the time, I worked for Fulton Co Gov. We will be moving soon out of state as I recently completed graduate school and I am looking for career opportunities out of state. Best of luck to you and my advice would be to look around the area and judge for yourself.

I am a Clayton County resident. I'm purchasing a house in Forest Park. I'm also an educator in Clayton County. To dispell all the misinformed people, Clayton County, as all counties in the metro, have the good and the bad. The school system DOES have accreditation. My middle school has the bragging rights of being one of the top 10 middle schools in the NATION under the SREB making middle grades work program. Jonesboro High has won the National Debate team competition two years in a row, 2009, 2010. This high school also won 2nd place in the National Chess Team competition this year. The list goes on.... Clayton County has great things going on. As far as Forest Park, it has a very active recreational center. It is an older community with lots of retirees. If you look at the data it is populated by a little better than 1/3 black, around 1/3 white, the rest hispanics and other (Asians). It is a very diverse community filled with working class citizens. Traffic is WONDERFUL on this side of town. You couldn't pay me to live North, East or West the have traffic jams, delays everyday! Please don't go away thinking all of Clayton County is bad. However, I'm not impressed with the apartment choices in Forest Park. I would look in Morrow or Jonesboro around the college area. There's a lot of houses for rent that would fit into your price range. The communities are also nice and quite.

If he is ok with traveling to work with a 30min commute or maybe more depending on time he goes you may want to consider living south of Jonesboro and Stockbridge. I have never lived in Forest Park but I hear it has its share of crime plus it is right next to the airport your going to get a lot of polution...

Default Fulton County

Hello,
I am looking at a house in Atlanta, Fulton County (near Eisenhower Ct / Ci). I am not from GA, so was wondering if anyone could provide some input into the area?
Thanks so much!

I just can't imagine the Riverdale, Forest Park area being as bad as people try to make it out to be.. I have to ask, compared to what? If compared to other major cities i just don't see it but I haven't been in the area for many moons.

Fairburn is a very low crime city and extremely quiet. Very nice/safe place to live.

I own a home in Fairburn off of Jonesboro Road and the area is so quiet that you can hear crickets almost 24/7

Probably the safest town in South Fulton County.

Clayton County has nice areas like Morrow and parts of Jonesboro.
