No, it not at ATL zoo. Most of the wild animals around there don't live in cages

It's in Pine Mountain, near Callaway and FDR State Park.

Approximately 2 hours, but you need to factor in continuous road projects on I-85 South in a couple of spots taking place through September I believe, that may extend that unless you look up the back roads and take those.

I think 2 hours is a bit pessimistic. On a weekend (and without construction delays) you should be able to make it from downtown Atlanta in 1.5 hours. We live 30 miles northeast of Atlanta and it only takes us 2 hours to get there.

Google maps says 1:22.

There is also Noahs Ark in Locast Grove GA, they to have a wide selection of animals that you can enjoy and areas for picnics. They boast over 1,000 animals and it's free.

Never heard of this either. My husband - he's in his forties - claims he wants to go on safari. This looks like a somewhat acceptable alternative. Perhaps next weekend! So, 2 adults and a teen. For some reason it really looks like fun, especially the photos posted with the animals sticking their heads in the car windows!

How long of a "safari" is it?

Default Varies

It all depends on the time of a day, people in front of you taking pictures, etc...I think the road itself is only a couple of miles. Sometimes, the animals park themselves in the middle of the road and you have to figure out how to get them to move.

If you go in the afternoon, the animals may have eaten from people's hands all day and may not come up to car.

The giraffes are great but watch out for the ostriches!
