Supposedly they either broke the world record or came close to it at the SciFi convention "Dragon Con" downtown this past week - dancing to "Thriller" at 905 people officially I think. Luckily they weren't judged on how well in sync they were with each other

Video: Videos*| accessAtlanta (http://www.accessatlanta.com/video?bcpid=1691028104&bclid=1717763734&bctid=3785 8935001 - broken link)

If you have any pics or video from Dragon Con, post them in this thread as well. Please keep them to around no larger than 800 pixels in size (or they will be deleted), and keep each post to no more than about 8 pics or less. Thanks.

I've got some pics from the parade, but they're all much too big to post. Some great costumes, and an overall good time- especially for the kids.

I thought the dancers were in sync fairly well for a bunch of amateur dancers. Which one was you, Greg???

OMG I was totally blindsided by this event (although I knew my daughter and her friends were attending it. We went downtown on Saturday and got caught up in the melee on the streets. Such fun! I felt like I was on Tatooine.

Oh, I wasn't in it. I was tempted to get out the old Grapes underwear costume from years ago but it doesn't relate to scifi, and didn't have the mental drive to do it.

BobBobBob.... you have to learn how to resize photos - it's 2009. Try out Google's Picasa photo editing software (it's free). It'll let you resize and adjust pics and all that. Just remember to make a copy of the image first and tinker with the copy so you don't mess up the original.

I HATE that I missed the Thriller dance. I took a ton of pictures of the parade on my phone, but I had to get to Decatur for the Book Festival (one of my friends was selling her art and books, so I came there in support)

Sadly, no, that wasn't me. By the time I got to DT, Peachtree was insanely crowded and I wasn't able to get close enough to take decent pictures. I had a lot of "above people's head" pictures. I don't think they'd be worth the bandwith to put on a forum.

^Thanks! Sounds as if DragonCon has grown huge these last few years.....I will definately be down there next year!

Re: the Decatur Book Festival, I find it extremely impressive that it has grown in its short life to become the 4th largest in the Country!

Yeah, the Book Festival was fantastic. It was a great day on the Square.

Also, I've been losing weight and working on my body, so if I'm able to, I plan to dress as Bam-Bam from the Flintstones for DragonCon next year. Don't judge me! LOL
