This proves that you have never stepped foot inside the place.

Does anyone out there but me think that 1990 wasn't all that long ago? I kinda like interiors that haven't been updated since 1950, 1940, 1930...

Although maybe 1990 wasn't our most aesthetically pleasing era design-wise. I suppose my HS graduation picture proves that

This might be slightly off topic, but I personally love the dichotomy between your name and your comments. Isn't it ironic, don't you think?

I've just always thought that this IS her fun. She likes to throw things out and get a rise out of people. I picture a blond chick sitting back and laughing at the fury she causes.

First of all, I am shocked at how uninformed several posters are on this site. Which leads me to believe that they 1. have never been in the place, 2. know nothing about the hotel.

The Ritz-Carlton owns the restaurant because it is in the hotel! Most Ritz-Carlton's do not have franchised restaurants for good reason. Because they are quality establishments without fancy names or celebrity chef franchises. The staff is among the best and if you haven't had a chance to enjoy it, it is worth the $200 + a person to have at least one memorable meal. Otherwise, I suggest you go to McDonalds. It is a bargain and the food is consistent.

The Sunday Brunch is not part of the Dining Room - never has been. It is a part of The Cafe which is the other restaurant and when they do the themed ones like the Chocolate one for Valentine's Day, the local Produce one, etc. it is wonderful and again, worth the cost.

No matter what anyone thinks - a five star, five diamond restaurant in the U.S. does not turn a profit. It may break even, but more often than not it loses money and is done more for the press it will receive rather than the profit. Obviously the posters thinking otherwise have never run a restaurant, much less a fine establishment such as this. Why do you think Seegers went out of business. He was a great cook, but knew nothing about running a business when the profit margin was not there.

The Ritz-Carlton knew that the Dining Room was their crown jewel and for 20+ years, it has been. I will miss it a lot and look forward to hearing about what the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead chooses to take its place. No doubt it will be wonderful. The hotel itself is wonderful, the rooms are wonderful and the service is exceptional.

As far as drinks being so expensive, they can charge whatever. If it keeps someone from not drinking over their limit and possibly drinking drunk, I am all for cocktails being a luxury. You pay for the service and the atmosphere. Go to Vegas and you will see that the prices in their bars are even worse than the drinks in the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton price-wise.

I hope that people can just realize that the Dining Room was a staple and that it will be missed for being the only Five Star, Five Diamond restaurant in Atlanta. There aren't any other restaurants that compare.

Have a heart, blondie... I had my high school prom at the Ritz Carlton, and the food there is excellant. Sometimes it's good to treat yourself every so once in a while.

Rupert, I agree 100%. My wife and I have our reservations for later this month and we are going to enjoy one last wonderful meal there. We will definitely miss it.
