Howdy -

We are considering a move from Calif. to the Lawrenceville area. Place of employment would be hwy 85 at Sugarloaf Pkwy NW. I certainly don't want commute issues as that is one of the main reasons I'm considering the move!

We have seen houses we like (online) in Suwanee, Duluth, Lawrenceville and some in Snellville. What is the preferred commute direction - north in the morning?

Driving north on I-85 in the morning is considered reverse commuting since everybody is driving the opposite direction.

Yeah, that's what I figured. How about not using 85 S (side-streets) from Suwanee?

Overall, the traffic from Suwanee to Sugarloaf Pkwy shouldn't be too bad since there are three alternative roads ( satellite, buford and peachtree industrial) if you live on the west side of I-85.

Thanks for the quick reply.

A separate question. I have one 16 yo son. Which area has a better/safer high school, Duluth, Suwanee or Lawrenceville?

Hey LarryLarry, I wouldn't use surface streets in the a.m., as everyone will be doing that to actually get to interstate 85. Why not just go north on the interstate? It should be a breeze anyway, since everyone will be going south.

I recommend Suwanee/Collins Hills schools. Suwanee shares this district with Lawrenceville.
