We know a family currently living in Asia who are moving to Atlanta next year and and are looking online at a beautiful home in East Lake, an intown neighborhood.

The property is zoned for Grady High School and they have a high school age child (currently at an international school).

What do you think about living in East Lake?

We are unfamiliar with East Lake as we have only lived here 2 years, so we're not much help.

As far as Grady High School, comments on this forum look pretty positive as far as Grady is concerned, right?

Your thoughts and comments are most appreciated.

East Lake if fine if you aren't too far south or too close to Candler Road. Grady is a great school if you are in the magnet program. Otherwise my understanding is that it's more of a mixed bag. I haven't lived in the Grady cluster for a while and I know that they recently changed how they do things over there, so I may be mistaken though.

At a soccer game yesterday, I spoke to a mom with a student at Grady High School and she said "this was the last year of acceptances for Grady's communications magnet program".

It sounds like there will be changes in how the program is configured? Something like becoming four smaller programs?

Any Grady parents out there who know what's planned? I couldn't discover much from the school's web site...
