wow, thank you everyone for being so helpful! this is great info! i was feeling a bit overwhelmed, being so unfamiliar. but now i know just where to explore when i go apt scouting. i really appreciate it! : )

Little five is a bit more edgy and has more funk for sure. Think the village in NY...you'll see it all and then some in little 5. I would suggest trying to go to these areas on a friday night and saturday afternoon that way you will get a flavor for the community. All these intown areas are good but they each "feel" very different. The brochures won't really explain the feeling of each. All intown areas are fairly expensive as you generally pay more to live (i got a new one for ya ITP). ITP for all you non Atlanta folks is "Inside the perimter"(or inside of 285 for further translation). You either live ipt or otp (inside or outside the perimter/285).
