what are your thoughts on this neighborhood? we are considering moving into the somerly apartments and are concerned about neighborhood safety. the exact address is 2400 park land drive (near piedmont road and lindbergh way intersections)...

I don't think that the area is particularly problematic in terms of crime. The biggest negatives are a 1) very seedy apartment complex right in the center of the neighborhood (which was once slated to be torn down), and 2) a large number of incomplete and bankrupt condo developments that give the area a kind of 'wasteland' feel. The whole area was in the midst of a massive redevelopment when the real-estate bubble burst, and little to nothing has happened there since. The median on Lindbergh, once landscaped, is now neglected and overgrown. Very depressing. There's no telling when things will turn around

I think you will be fine. The Lindbergh area is now very clean and new. You will be centrally located so you really can't beat that!
