Hello Folks,

Hoping you can give me some information on the area of Chamblee. My partner has been offered a position with a company in this area and we are currently in the process of applying for visa's.

Just general information about the area, climate, rental properties - probably apartments and job prospects for myself - a 46 year old woman with customer service experience?

Your comments would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Mandy

Chamblee IMO is a well-located, middle-class community in the NE metro area of Atlanta. It is affectionately known here as 'Chambodia' due to it's sizable Asian community; it is also home to a very fairly large Hispanic community as well. The city often pops up on lists of Atlanta suburbs that are 'up and coming' because of its location, the fact that it is located on the MARTA rail line, it abuts the more affluent communities of Dunwoody and Brookhaven, and that a lot of loft and townhouse development is already underway near the city center. The western and northern areas of the city are primarily very pleasant single family home communities.
Here's a suggestion for an apartment...Post Brookhaven; they are located on the Brookhaven/Chamblee line.

Chamblee is located in NE Atlanta--you would have a number of options for housing around this area.

Go Here for FYI on Climate>>>
Atlanta, GA Climate

Atlanta has a moderate climate---gets hot and humid---July through end of September. We are having some exceptionally cold weather at present--just had 'a little' ice and snow and temps dropped below the average for January. From around the end of February to June---the weather is comfortable--sweaters and jackets are generally all you need.

As for getting a visa and finding employment I'll let others respond to that.
