Will do! Please do the same. I don't know how long it's going to take to sell my house. Housing market sucks up here too. Nobody buying. Banks not lending even if they want to buy.

spent most of my childhood (4-18) in Peachtree City, never felt unsafe anywhere, even when getting lost on the golf cart paths late at night when I shouldn't have been out.

Our house was in Chestnut Field. I love the houses around that area.

Wow! Are the paths really open late at night? They don't have a time to close?

We are researching a possible move from North East to Atlanta area too, this thread could be of help to us in that way. PTC is definitely a very desirable area, from all the reading I have done. Now we just need to come out to visit Atlanta area in general.

Candy007 --

I'm sorry, but I'm laughing at your question about the paths! The paths are kind of like wider sidewalks that connect the city... they are always open, just like streets! In fact, our cart paths are a secondary roadway system. The paths are PACKED on the Fourth of July when everyone turns out for the fireworks over Lake Peachtree.

For crime stats you should always check with the local police department. However, one thing I love about PTC is that we all look out for one another. There was a robbery at one of the banks a couple of years ago and two citizens followed the robbers until the police caught up. Classic Peachtree City! If you do move here, introduce yourself and get to know your neighbors. Most people are very friendly!

Good luck!
Kristi

Honestly I've only past the city on the interstate. It was voted in the top 10 best small towns to live in 2009 by CNN Money though. Best Places to Live 2009 - Top 100: City details: Peachtree City, GA - from MONEY Magazine

My family moved to PTC from NJ three years ago and we love it. The other area that could be considered not great is Winnemeade --which was mentioned before --on the far west side --but there are good areas right by there. (And for the "not as nice" section, it is pretty nice with a lake.)

PTC is safe, beautiful, great schools ---great community.....the perfect place to live for a family. I only wish I had found it before my kids were teens. By far, the best place I ever saw to raise a family.

Starrs Mill School complex is the best, Check out the south side of PTC - the subdivisions off Redwine Road and the ones on 74 - Brechin Park, Chimneys and there is 1 more I can't think what it's called.
