What is your favorite MARTA Station? Least Favorite? What is your Favorite bus trip? Least Favorite bus trip?

Now I'm not talking about service frequency or anything to do with operation I'm talking about, what station has your favorite artwork, architecture, ambience, music, or just people hanging near the station.

My Favorite Station:Tie Georgia State/Chamblee

Georgia State, its built in the side of a bulding. I love the long escalator rides up to the platforms. I Love listening to the freight trains next to the westbound platforms, and the entrance to the sloppy floyd buildings on Jesse Hill is beautiful.

Chamblee - is one of my favorite because of the people and the location. I think Chamblee is the second or third most diverse station in the system behind Kensington and/or Doraville. I love the location near the international village and Walmart, and PDK, And I love buying antiques on antique row in Chamblee. and it is really clean.

Leas Favorite Station: Sandy Springs

Sandy bSprings- Worst signage in the whole system, easy to get lost in if never been to before, The area around the station is to congested and hilly for any real walking and the lack of sidewalks is to dangerous.

Favorite Bus Ride: Route 12 Howell Mill/Cumberland Beautiful neighborhoods that the bus goes thru

Least Favorite Bus ride 47 I-85 Access/Woodcock Almost always empty and stupid setup of route.

I like the King Memorial station. The streets immediately surrounding it are not very appealing, but I think the structure of the station is. I like the way that walking past the criss-crossed stairways and the various concrete features on the upper deck makes for some playful geometry.

The Peachtree Center station is just cool to be in because of the green lighting reflecting off of all the exposed rock and steel walls. It looks kinda sci-fi.

As far as what's immediately outside the stations -- I absolutely love exiting the Civic Center station southbound at night and getting an eyeful of the downtown skyline. It's really beautiful and as an added extra, the sidewalks are comfortably wide.

For bus routes, I like the Peach Bus through Midtown. It's a nice way to take a look at the great streetscape that's developed here.

There's a MARTA Pool on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?m=pool&w=33036029%40N00&q=marta+stations+ - broken link) and you can see a lot of good photos there.

YouTube - Billy Joel - It's Still Rock And Roll To Me

They all smell like pee to me.

But seriously, Decatur Marta looks nice inside and you walk right out into a bunch of restaurants and shops and it's a really walkable area.

I do love that whole 'Beneath the Planet of the Apes' thing going on at PCS, but my vote goes to Five Points...the perfect cross-section of our city.

Peachtree Center, because it's like being in the Millenium Falcon's hangar.
