Okay everyone, it's a beautiful weekend coming up with tons of things to do. Dogwood, Chandler Park, Braves, Hawks, etc. I want everyone to take a break from the forum and go have fun!!
Personally, I'm going to the Dogwood festival and people watch and eat some really good, bad for me festival food.
Go have fun folks!

Don't know if you caught it or not, but they were showing a very interesting new food concession featuring authentic Maryland crab cakes on Good Day Atlanta this morning.

Ah, it has begun. This weekend marks the beginning of what I call "Festival Season". Should be something to do every weekend from now until Halloween. LOVE IT!

You guys ... I'm so jealous I won't be in Atlanta until Memorial Day ... anyone want to put up a wayward North Carolinian for a weekend prior to then - LOL, I promise I'm a great houseguest . LOL.

On a side note about Festivals are there any Memorial Day weekend besides the Decatur Arts Festival?

Any food recommendations for the festival? This is our first time going and not sure what to expect but need to get out of our corporate apartment and do something. (Too bad husband is stranded in Europe due to the vocano).

Well, it's junk food but there are polish & italian saugages, kettle corn, fried veggies, crepes, funnel cakes, gyros, barbecue sandwiches, pizza, corn dogs, there are two seafood vendors, chicken, stirfry, beer, lemonade stand with your choice of gin or vodka, lots of that kind of thing. Watch out for the tent with the girl scout cookies-those two adorable girls made it impossible to say no to a box of cookies.
there is live music, performances at the dock on the lake and a lot of neat art.

Hmm, by the end of the summer my brain is usually fried so I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Are you just visiting then or moving? If you are moving the Greek Festival is a few weeks after. That's always a lot of fun. Atlanta Greek Festival - Atlanta, GA USA

Oh and for the stat happy folks, with everything going on this weekend, there will be an extra 300,000 to 400,000 people in the city according to the AJC. Making our population for the next three days 900,000 to 1,000,000. Midtown will be the biggest gainer with probably about 150,000 extra people alone. LOL

Ok, off to go grab some Martinis at Twist and go for a walk around the neighborhood.

I'm totally psyched about the Atlanta Greek Fest.
Is that in a good area?
