Is that in a good area?
Absolutely! It's on the grounds of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, in a great part of DeKalb County. It's surrounded by nice older ranch homes and a couple of new mansions. This area of town is heavily forested and quite scenic, imo.
Welcome to the Home Page of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of The Annunciation in Atlanta (http://www.atlgoc.org/default.htm - broken link)

The Festival is so popular that you have to park at a nearby office complex (Century Center) and take a shuttle bus to the Cathedral grounds.

My absolute favorite of the entire year is next weekend, the Inman Park Festival.

plantlover & halo_in_reverse - Memorial Day weekend is when the month long Atlanta Jazz Festival wraps up. The Festival is in multiple locations, but the best venue is Piedmont Park, imo. It's great, and it's usually extremely well attended. It's the countries largest free Jazz Fest.

Personally, I'm going to the Dogwood festival and people watch and eat some really good, bad for me festival food.
Go have fun folks!
Its a Super Weekend in da A. Im doing Dogwood Fest & the Braves series. Might check the Sweetwater thing. The local police are doing a great job shutting down the non important events so the real citizens can enjoy our city. Good stuff.

With that in mind, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is Memorial day weekend in Piedmont Park:

I am so jealous! I have only been in Atlanta for a month and I have no idea where any of these places are. I also didn't even know about a festival this weekend. I gotta get in the know.

Not sure where you live but Marta is a great way to get to the Dogwood festival, go check it out tomorrow. Then go to Piedmont park again sometime when a festival is not happening, its a great place anytime.

Yeah Maaci, where do you live? If you let us know we can give car, bus, or subway directions with recommendations for dining, additional entertainment, drinks, etc.

I have 1 complaint.....after thinkin....Dogwood needs a map lol...I dont think I saw everything. And I saw some things twice. There was a stage on the water & a stage in the park. Was there other stages?

Im not familar with Piedmonts set up so it easy to get lost in there.

When I left the Braves game they were losing 4 to zip...

I know the Hawks won.
