Obviously stuff happens all over the place.
But when you're going to be a newbie to an area,
and are cluless to the area, this tends to make you nervous.
Anyone hear about this when it happened?
I can't find anything else on it.
Was it random? Did he know her?

Regretfully such incidents occur throughout the metro area. Dacula is a safe area and you can certainly contact local authorities if you have concerns about a specific section. Gwinnett county might have jurisdiction--I'd have to Google to be certain.

It's true --if you plan to move to Atlanta you need to be prepared for the unscrupulous. I assume this is true of almost any place?

No, it's actually not.

Can you elaborate? No, it's actually not true of any place in Atlanta metro? Please elaborate. Specific areas you feel are safer?
Thanks

I assume the PP believes that there is less/no crime in other cities. There are also 'nitpickers' and those who are contemptuous of Atlanta.

Here's a thread that may offer some FYI>>>

Here is one of your previous threads--

I don't know how much more posters in an online forum can reassure you that Dacula is one of the better places to be in Atlanta, jmo. 'Some' posters may be able to pinpoint crime free areas in the city but I can't even after living here for decades. I live in a safe area and from time to time we have assaults, burglaries, home invasions, bank robberies and other tragic incidents. The community does what it can to limit this sort of activity--I don't know what more can be done. The jails/prisons are overcrowded.

Dacula is fairly safe, but you are always unsure in Atlanta. Crime is widespread and random here.

But overall you'll likely to be fine in Dacula.
