Why Marietta?

I only ask because I don't know squat about Marietta but I do know that you can get a large heavily wooded lot in the city....Druid Hills comes to mind (for the large part). Even some homes in Inman/Candler have large lots (like my 3 neighbors to the west of me). All heavily treed. So much so that while I actually just have 2 trees on my property all the tree cover from my neighbors makes it so I get very, very little sun and must shade garden. My lot, is very, very small. Which I like.

Oh, the next question that comes to mind is...what do you mean by large?

When I lived in Gwinnett my lot was a half acre. I considered that large. Because mowing it was a sunuvabich.

I think Jefferson Township has pretty big lots. Here's a thread about it. The thread is a couple of years old but the content is still pretty current, I'd say. //www.city-data.com/forum/atlan...east-cobb.html

Edit: However, I see the OP is looking for something close to Abernathy in Sandy Springs. Jefferson Township is not terribly close to that area. It's maybe a 20 minute drive to there in light traffic, 40 minutes in heavy traffic.

I instantly thought of Jefferson Township as well--but didn't suggest it due to the OP's close to Abernathy/Sandy Springs request.

Did some research...

Try these subdivisions in East Cobb-Marietta (both meet your criteria):

1. Blackland Forest
2. Lake Fjord

I hope this helps. Good Luck!
