Hi everyone,

We're getting ready to relocate to Fort Gordon, and I am curious about Grovetown, Evans, Martinez, and the commute to Fort Gordon. I've been mainly focusing on Evans because of their schools, but I'm wondering if I should consider the others as well. Really, my primary concerns are schools, safety, and the commute. I would also like someplace family friendly with shops, restaurants, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a specific reason your limiting yourself to Evans, Grovetown, and Martinez. Out of the three given choices I recommend Evans first, Martinez second, and Grovetown last. Besides the Evans area, West Augusta is a better choice considering the criteria.

Evans- 20-25 minutes max
I grew up in Evans and could get to Fort Gordon in 15 minutes easily using Dyess Parkway

Martinez 15-20 minutes max
Once again Dyess parkway is a great option in gettin onto Fort Gordon quickly

Real Grovetown
5 minutes

Fake Grovetown
10-15 minutes max

Whats the difference between real and fake Grovetown. Real Grovetown is on the Fort Gordon side of I-20. Fake is on the opposite Martinez, Evans side.
Since they sit side by side theres really not a huge difference in parts of Evans and Martinez and Fake Grovetown.

If youre looking for shops and restaraunts then id agree and say Evans but the commute in this area is not bad. Not sure where youre coming from and what type of commutes youre used to but you can get pretty much anywhere areound here in 20 minutes(a wee bit more during"rush hour")

Welcome to Augusta!
