"The rate increased as the metro area lost 3,400 mostly temporary and part-time jobs related to the holiday season."

Some seemed to be a little unhappy that their attempt at negativity was shot down...

Are we going to go through all of this again? The other side of the coin... deal with it

I'll gladly deal with the jobless rate going up because temporary holiday jobs ended. And before you ask, I have worked temporary holiday jobs in the past and was glad for the opportunity and the income. But if we are just so concerned on the jobless rate itself, I guess we could do away with holiday temp jobs altogether, that way when they end we don't have to worry about the jobless rate going up again.

Facetious much?

Why is it ok to boast of 700 jobs that might be here in 5 or more years...

But its negative to speak of jobs lost?

Same questions... same answers.... same deflection
