Personally, I'm glad the SPLOST passed. I think SPLOST 7 will be important for the city's future. I'm also pleased that the commission approved accountability and transparency measures.

I think the biggest champion of this is Fort Gordon. The base overwhelmingly needed this to aid in the development of the area for ARCYBER.

We can't really say it overwhelmingly passed. As voters we should be ashamed of the paltry turnout. Less than ten thousand voters bothered to go to the polls. The polling place I vote at usually has a five to fifteen minute wait to vote. This time, other than the poll workers there was one other person there. I have ranted against the SPLOST and followed up with a vote. How many rant about stuff but don't bother to vote to seal the deal?
So to repeat the old saying : " If you don't vote don't gripe." Looks like we should have a quiet time for a while.
