My family will be relocating to augusta in the future. Where are some of the better neighborhoods in richmond county. I have a family member who lives in augusta already. We have a daughter who is in 8th grade. And a son who will be in highschool this year. She told me tutt, and westside are two good schools. Her daughter attends westside highschool. What are some neighborhoods zone for westside or ARC. She told me they will be located on the westside of richmond county.

Westside is decent.. Tut is definately NOT.. unless you can get your kids in one of the magnet schools (which is not a gurantee by any means.. there is generally a long waiting list) you would better off looking for a home in Martinez or Evans in Columbis County.. much better public schools.

Btw.. Martinez is right next to West Augusta.. so you'd still practically be neighbors.. but your kids would be going to much better schools.

I mentioned the magnet schools.. of which AR Johnson is one.. but you have to apply and be put on a waiting list.. and generally students who move into the school system from somewhere else have to attend their "zoned" school first before entrance into th magnet schools. So they can Hope that their kids get into one of the magnet schools or go with the sure thing and just move to Columbia County.

Somebody I worked with moved into Richmond County (from Aiken County) simply so his daughter could attend Davidson Fine Arts school (another fantastic magnet school) and she went straight in and she loves it.

Do some more investigating and talk to the school administrations if you can. Check out: GreatSchools.net
But also remember that the biggest factor is what your child puts into education. It's not as if Columbia County schools or even the magnet schools are worry free.

Davidson in augusta is the number one school in the state of georgia. I know several people also from aiken, columbia, burke, and other counties surrounding augusta. Who have moved into richmond just so they child could attend. Davidson or A.R Johnson which is the 5th best school in the state.
