The tee center and parking deck will sit across from each on on reynolds.
The city will have the final design and budget completed on the trade, exhibit and event center within 60 days. He said the city is also close to concluding negotiations with the Marriott Inn & Suites as the TEE Center's operator.

"At this point it is appropriate for us to look for a parking facility," Mr. Russell said. The deck at the corner of Reynolds Street and 9th Street would be multi-level and have 750 spaces.

"It would not only support the TEE Center, but activities downtown," Mr. Russell said. "At the Common we're starting to have a parking issue. It is a great thing for me to have to say. In the last eight years, I've never said that."

Construction of the TEE Center starts late 09/early 2010.

What would you like to see on reynolds?

The mayor, gov. perdue, and cal ripken jr want a multi use entertainment center that will include a baseball stadium. On the golf and gradens property that's up for debate in Atlanta. DDA wants a mixed use project on the gated cleared land near the depot. Augusta tommorrow has several plans. Including turning 5th street bridge into pedestrian only. And putting condos and other residential along with shops. On both sides on the river of Augusta and North Augusta.

I absolutely love the sound of this. Is the 5th street bridge an old train bridge and or what is it used for now?

Talk about giving Old Towne the boost it deserves to be a well respected residential area.

here is a map Augusta, Georgia : Augusta Real Estate Investing , but it is loosely defined as 5th street to the West, Broad to the North (some parts of Reynolds), 2nd Street to the East, and Telfair Street to the South.

The "signs" depicting the neighborhood of Old Towne are at Broad St and 4th, and Greene Street and 4th.

Since cal ripken and deke are behind the multi-purpose facility. And said it will get built no matter what. The golf hall of fame property issue between Atlanta and Augusta. Should go away rather quickly.

The Tee Center may be in serious jeopardy. Voters approved it nearly 3 years ago as part of SPLOST.. the problem is the city administrator and commission lowballed it.. and only allocated $20 million for the project from SPLOST. The architectural firm hired for the project quit because they insist that the type of facility the city wants would actually cost atleast $40 million to build.. and with construction costs going up everyday... the figure is likely much higher. So it would seem for it to get built the commission would need to go back to voters in the next SPLOST and ask for another $20 million or more. This is just one example of several projects approved by voters in SPLOST years ago where nothing has been done...Augusta seriopusly needs a new administrator..

I like all the projects... we just need the money to pay for them...
and unfortunately Augusta is not receiveing any of the stimulus money...why? because they didn't submit a list to the feds of prrojects that could be funded by the stimulus. Alpharetta, GA is getting over 20 projects funded thru the stimulus... Augusta is getting zero. The city could have atleast asked for $8million to keeo the transit system from cutting out weekend service and cutting routes..
Why are Augusta leaders out to lunch on this??
