Hello Everyone,

I am planning to relocate to GA. I will probably be commuting to the city. I wanted to know if Augusta was affected by the floods? Are there flood zone cities or a list that one can look up?

How bad are these floods anyways? Are they as bad as they seem (as the media portrays them to be) or are they something that Augusta area has learned to deal with?

Thank you for the information!

There is localized flooding, be smart and do not build/buy close to any body of water or low lying areas. It's not very widespread and pretty much a non-issue.

Get the house on a hill, not down in the bottom.. basically

When we first moved here we heard about flooding in a few specific areas, mainly the Brynwood neighborhood. But that was six years ago, and I haven't heard about any flooding there in a while , so maybe the city has corrected the drainage problems.
